The ONE Fund is the Arboretum’s annual fund.

ONE = Organizational, Natural and Educational. These pivotal areas uphold our mission of creatively connecting people with plants and places. Giving to the ONE Fund means giving to the Arboretum across all areas of support.

Unrestricted gifts to the ONE FUND, our annual fund, support the Arboretum’s highest and greatest needs.

Restricted gifts can be designated to support garden spaces such as the Bonsai Exhibition Garden or Native Azalea Collection, education programs including ecoExplore and Camperships, and new or established endowments.

How to Donate Stock

If you have publicly traded securities held electronically in a brokerage account, you can transfer them by wire through the Depository Trust Company (DTC) to our brokerage account.

To arrange this transfer, notify your broker of your intention to make a gift of securities to The North Carolina Arboretum Society. Be sure to tell them the name of the stock that you want to transfer and the number of shares. Prior to your transaction, please let us know of your intention to donate stock, so that we may alert our broker and ensure that your generosity is acknowledged accurately and promptly. Please include your name, complete mailing address, and the name and number of shares of the stock that you are donating. Upon confirming the asset transfer, we will provide you with a formal tax receipt of your contribution. In accordance with federal laws, the gift will be valued at the average of the high and low prices of the stock on the date that we receive it.

Some employers offer the benefit of a matching gift at the request of their employees. Be sure to check with your employer to see if a gift match is possible.

The George and Sara Briggs Family Endowment for Art, Landscape & Inspiration

Newly established, The George and Sara Briggs Family Endowment for Art, Landscape & Inspiration will create positive and lasting impressions for visitors of all ages by funding elements characteristic of The North Carolina Arboretum and its unique setting within the Southern Appalachian region.

With your participation, the endowment will sustain a legacy of creativity at the Arboretum by supporting new projects such as art elements representing indigenous plants and animals, colorful plantings, and inspiring landscape design. The arrival into The North Carolina Arboretum from the Blue Ridge Parkway and along Frederick Law Olmsted Way sets educational, aesthetic, and locational anticipation for the institution, and will be the first of many future priorities supported by this one-of-a-kind endowment.
